Refund Policy
Digital footage can't be returned once it's downloaded, so our refund rules are simple and fair to both buyers and the creators who filmed the clips.
Licenses
Changed your mind
You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase if you have not downloaded the original file. Once the original has been downloaded, a change of mind is not a reason for a refund. Selfshot records every download, and your license certificate shows whether the original has been downloaded.
Something is wrong with the clip
You can get a full refund within 14 days, even after downloading, if the original:
- Won't open or play, and we can't give you a working copy.
- Is a lower resolution, frame rate or length than the listing said.
- Is materially different from the preview.
- Is removed from Selfshot because the creator did not have the right to license it. In that case the 14 day limit does not apply.
When a license is refunded
The license ends on the refund date and the clip can't be used in new work. See section 11 of the License Terms.
Selfshot Pro and Business
- Cancel any time from Manage billing on the Pro or Business page, or by emailing us. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- We don't give partial refunds for unused days, except where the law requires it.
- If you were charged after cancelling, or charged twice, we will refund it in full.
For creators
When a license is refunded, the creator's 60% share of that sale is reversed. If it was already paid out, it is deducted from future earnings. We will always tell you why a refund was given.
How to ask
Email hello@selfshot.net with your license ID (it's on your license certificate) and what went wrong. We reply within 3 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days.
This policy doesn't limit any rights you have under consumer protection law.
